Karen bought the pattern for Emmery just a few weeks ago at Stitches West and she’s already done. Knit in lavendar Valley Yarns Northfield, Karen modified the pattern by work a row of reverse stockinette at the bottom, cuffs, and neckline (at the folding points) to make the facings easy to stitch down evenly. She wore it to work for the first time this week; “Lots and lots of comments today about the sweater, from men and women alike! I’m thinking of making another one in light seafoam.”

Hi Jordana,
Something else I did but forgot to mention was to tack down the neckline vertically where it overlaps (i.e., where the hook and eye closures are). Since you really wouldn’t ever wear this sweater open, the way you might with a standard cardigan, it doesn’t matter that it’s permanently closed–I just put the garment on like a pullover. This way the neck is much more stable and stands up nicely without any gapping as you move around. You can see in the third photo that the sewing is not at all noticeable.
I love this design!

Great knitted sweater Karen. Love the color choices. The green buttons really pop!
