Class: Mila Beret at Bobbin’s Nest

Friday, October 29th, 2010

mila pattern Berets are my favorite hat for a no-fuss-but-so-stylish look. Seriously, if you haven’t tried one yet, now’s the time. In fact, now’s the time to make one for yourself. I’ll be teaching a class on how to make my Mila beret at Bobbin’s Nest in Santa Clara on November 14th. For complete details and to sign up click here.

Tips for Looking Chic in Your Beret
1. Wear it slouchy, as Mila is designed.
2. Position it toward the back of your head, about one inch from your hairline. Pin it in place with some hidden bobby pins.
3. All hair lengths look great with berets. If you have bangs, just wear them as you usually do (love that).
4. Try some different clothing styles with your beret; simple, girly, casual, or dressy.

Sarah’s Milas

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Sarah's MilasSarah, the Jordana Paige group moderator on Ravelry who became my awesome sales rep, made two Milas in the past couple days. I’ve been following her progress on Twitter as she’s uploaded photos. Sarah used sock yarn for the beret, rather than sport weight yarn. Love this color on her! Sarah says she’s officially addicted to the pattern.

Mila Beret

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

The pattern for Mila is now available for download.

Mila is knit in Biscotti Merino 8-Ply Sportweight Yarn by Wool Candy. Each skein is hand dyed by Adrienne. I had the opportunity to meet Adrienne this weekend at the Bobbin’s Nest After-Party where she was premiering this new yarn. She has a beautiful selection of colors. Adrienne knows what she’s doing; her yarns are dyed so the color won’t pool. Plus, this yarn is machine washable. Right now it’s available exclusively at Bobbin’s Nest Studio.

Don’t forget to add Mila to your Ravelry queue!
