Rio in Real Life

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

I’m all packed up and ready to catch my plane for Baltimore early tomorrow morning. Traveling is the ultimate test for JP bags. They can hold so much, it always amazes me how much I’m able to fit in them. I know, I designed the bag, I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am. I thought you might like a glimpse inside my bag to see Rio in action. The lighting isn’t great, so I wouldn’t rely on these pics for color, just for roomy organizational goodness.

Win a Rio Bag

Friday, October 10th, 2008

landon sweater knitting pattern I’ve decided that having contests and giving away bags is simply fun. It’s about time for another one. This time, I’m going to make you work a little bit harder than I have for past contests.

Here’s the deal. On October 23rd I will be releasing the pattern for my latest sweater design, Landon (pictured left). The first person to knit the sweater and send me photographs will win a Rio in the color of her choosing.

Edit 10/23: Link to download pattern.

The Rules
1. The photographs have to clearly show the sweater is complete, meaning they can’t cut off the sweater in certain parts.
2. Minor modifications are allowed. For example, adding button holes. Major modifications, like making it baby-size so you can finish first isn’t allowed. If you’re not sure about a modification, email me and I’ll let you know if it’s okay or not.
3. The sweater doesn’t have to be blocked, but the trims have to be sewn on and the ends woven in.
4. I get to be the judge and final say on whether or not a garment meets the above rules.
5. Void where prohibited.

To enter, make sure you’re on our mailing list to receive an email as soon as the pattern is available for sale. Below are the pattern details so you can pre-order your yarn and have it ready to go on October 23rd.

A Sneak Peek at Our New Handbag

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

It’s been quiet around here the past couple weeks. We’ve been revving up for something big…a design that’s been in the making for over two and half years. Countless prototypes, fabrics and color swatches later, we at last have a design ready for you.

rio knitting bag olive Each time I design a new bag, I love it more than the last. This one is no exception. Whenever I design something new I share it with my family to get their feedback. When I came out with The Knitter’s Satchel the comment from my mom was, “Jordana, I love the The Knitter’s Purse, but I really love this satchel.” And when I designed Bella, her comment was, “I love the satchel, but I really love this Bella bag.” And, as expected, when I showed her the new design she said, “I love really love Bella, but this new bag is your best yet.” Well, of course Mom is going to think so, but I’m anxious to hear your response and hope it’s exactly the bag you’ve been looking for.

I’m not sure yet when the revealing will be, maybe tomorrow, maybe next week. We’ll see how things go. Until then, I leave you with a sneak peek to whet your appetite.

Finally, a size comparison!

knitting bags size comparison How big is that bag? I get asked this question a lot. It’s so hard to figure out size when shopping online.

I’ve added a comparison picture of each bag on all the product pages. Hopefully this will help you decide which bag is right for your needs.
