You know when you find something so adorable or awesome, you can’t believe you didn’t know it existed before? Like the first time you ever had a cheese danish? (Seriously, those things are ridiculous.)

Well that’s how I felt when I read this month’s issue of Stroller Magazine. And I’m not even a mom. There’s an inspiring article about a soap company making a difference for Southeast Asian rainforests and children in Haiti, some great gift ideas for kids for those of us who procrastinate when it comes to gifts, and a special section about knitting.

To be fair, I probably wouldn’t have found this magazine if I didn’t know it called The Knitter’s Satchel one of its favorite knitting must-haves of the holiday season. We’re stoked on that, to be sure!

But what a great find in Stroller Magazine.  There’s some absolutely gorgeous fashion and home decorating ideas as well. The digital version is free, so there’s no excuse to check it out yourself. It’s guilt-free, unlike that cheese danish.

We’ve all heard the phrase Actions speak louder than words, and here at Jordana Paige we love to encourage that mentality. While it’s great to talk about how we support early detection of breast cancer, it’s more fun when we can help others take action as well.

That’s why we’re proud to say that our Knitter’s Satchel will be a door prize at Knit Wits Yarn Shop’s wine tasting and breast cancer fundraiser next week, Thursday, October 27, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

If you’ll be anywhere near the Elk Creek Vineyards in Crestview Hills, Kentucky, try to make it for this exciting event. You’ll get a skein of pink Berroco Comfort and pattern to knit a chemo cap while sampling eight different wines and having a light dinner. Sounds divine!

And it’s for a worthy cause. Money raised from this event will go to I Have Wings, an organization that helps ease the financial burden on already struggling families by paying for much needed prostheses, electric bills, mammograms, food, clothing, wigs, school supplies, haircuts and more.

Is there anything more fun than giving something away? Jordana has done loads of giveaways, but usually within the knitting community. So we thought we would try something a little different this time.

We chatted with Alison over at Wardrobe Oxygen, who’s got a great what-I-wore-today fashion blog. She writes inspiring posts on everything from how to be a stylish tourist to shopping on a budget. I could lose myself for hours inside her blog, which is why I was stoked when she agreed to review the Knitter’s Satchel and help us give one away!

I realized even though I do not knit… I wanted one of these bags. They are cleverly made, have such attention to quality and detail, and are made from an elegant vegan material that more truly replicates leather than most bags I have seen… The bag is truly gorgeous.  It comes with its own dust bag to protect it when not in use.  I loved the apple green contrast lining – what a cheery color to see each time you open your bag!

Although we all have our own reasons for loving it (fall in full swing, baseball playoffs), everyone seems to adore October. This month has got it going on!

October is also National Breast Cancer Awareness month as well.

While we donate 10 percent of sales from the Knitter’s Satchel in pink to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, we want to remind everyone to perform monthly exams and learn about early detection and prevention. Let’s take care of ourselves so we can knit another day!
