Doing things with others is a great way to learn different techniques and get new ideas. Everyone I cook with seems to peel garlic differently. The same goes for knitting, crocheting and organizing all of our gear.
Many of the people we’ve chatted with have used our Crafter’s Tool Butler in conjunction with another handbag or just kept it as a carryall around the house. But Robyn Chachula over at crochet by faye likes hers as a clutch.
“I have to be honest, I have mainly been carrying it around to polish me up a bit too. It is really attractive and I have been using it as a clutch of sorts. It reminds me to wear nice shoes, put on jewelry, and basically get out of typical crazed mom look.
Granted I have it stuffed with a diaper and wipes in one back pocket, crochet swatch in another, wallet/cell in another, and pens/ hooks/snacks in the front; but I look like a very cool mom with a tiny clutch instead of a huge bag.”
You can read more of Robyn’s review on her blog and enter to win your own Crafter’s Tool Butler! The giveaway runs through April 14. While you’re there, check out some of her great crochet patterns. If you’re not already into crochet, the Paint by Numbers toddler dress might just give you the push you need. Thanks for the great review Robyn!
When Jordana looked through the names suggested for her newest product, she said, “I really like the idea of a butler for your tools.” And it turns out, a lot of other people do too.
Whether they’re on the West Coast at Stitches:
“I love my needle case I bought at the show. I had such a good time. Thank you so much!”
-Jane M.
Or the East Coast:
“I just got the tool butler from Tobia Knits shop in Port Republic, NJ. It’s wonderful! I was able to put my entire collection of double points in it with scissors, point protectors, needle gauge, stitch markers and a katcha, as well. Everything to do socks and gloves are there in one place. Thanks Jordana for another amazing product!”
-Frances T
Or in the virtual world, like Kate at Squidoo, who took loads of beautiful photos of her Crafter’s Tool Butler.
“The Butler got its own photo shoot as soon as it arrived, before it was even out of the box – the box gives you a keen preview of Butler’s functionality.”
You can read Kate’s full review here. Do you love the idea of having your own butler? Tell us why in the comments! Already have a butler? Tell us what you like best about it.
In all the excitement leading up to the release of the Crafter’s Tool Butler, I (Rebecca) completely forgot to blog about our very first review our newest product received from one of my new favorite bloggers.
Now I know I’m considerably late to the party, but if you haven’t read Stephanie Pearl-McPhee’s blog, Yarn Harlot, then you (like me until about six months ago) are missing out. She’s got serious wit and writing chops to boot.
In addition to including it in her 25 Days of Gifts for Knitters list, she said this about our Crafter’s Tool Butler:
Like their bags, it’s classy, and for knitters who knit a lot away from home, I think it’s a good idea … I think I could easily pack a whole book tour’s knitting tool needs in there”
You can read her whole review here, and then check out some of her more recent posts. I’m especially partial to her recent vacation posts, complete with monkeys and zip lines. Thanks so much Stephanie!
Great customers are the base of any great business, and we believe our JP customers are exceptionally special! That’s why we’re always on the lookout for new folks to feature in our knitter profiles and why we’re really stoked with the latest press our Crafter’s Tool Butler received.
Remember our naming contest back in December? The one where we guaranteed a little place in Jordana Paige history? Well it looks like we under-promised: Our awesome customers were featured in the latest issue of Yarn Market News!
A lively discussion on what the pouch should be called took place openly on Jordana Paige’s Facebook wall, where knitters proffered ideas like Murphy (as in Murphy bed), the Kangaroo Case, the Yarner’s Pearl, Knitcessity, Knitting in a Clutch, In Case I Have a Notion, and even Pick Pocket as part of the contest.
You can see the whole write-up in March’s YMN. The magazine is full of the latest happenings in the yarn industry. It also includes a great interview with author Margaret Atwood as well as an article written by Rebecca.
Thanks to all of you for being a part of Jordana Paige, and congratulations on the publicity!
Y’know those things you’ve just gotta have? Or more appropriately, those things you’ve just gotta knit? Well Vogue Knitting’s Spring/Summer issue has just arrived and its cover look is appropriately named Objects of Desire.
In that section alone, I’m ticking off the patterns I just gotta knit: The Tunic, Ankle Socks, The Knit Dress. *drool* And maybe it’s just coincidence, (although we’d like to think not) but this is also the issue that Vogue Knitting featured our new Crafter’s Tool Butler!
“Lately, Jordana Paige has been on a tool-organizing bender. Her latest solution – dubbed the Crafter’s Tool Butler in a naming contest – is a faux-leather portfolio with a pebbled finish that brings professional polish to the pleasurable business of knitting.”
You can read the full feature and check out all the lovely spring patterns in the latest issue. A big thanks to Vogue Knitting for the nice feature. We’d like to think our Crafter’s Tool Butler not only “brings professional polish” but is an object of desire as well.
The event runs from March 30 to April 1 at the Grapevine Convention Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. There will be all sorts of great classes, an evening with Ravelry and of course, a marketplace! You can register online here.
There’s an old saying in writing that goes: Show, don’t tell. We’ve talked a lot about how the Crafter’s Tool Butler can be used to organize crochet hooks, but we haven’t really been able to show it, mainly because we’ve got about four hours of crochet experience between us.
Enter Anneliese from Aesthetic Nest, who not only showed us how a seasoned crocheter would use the Crafter’s Tool Butler, but is actually showing us all how to crochet with her series, Head-over-Heels in Crochet.
As you can see, Anneliese is quite the whiz with a camera, and her tutorials are all very well illustrated. She also had some great things to say about the Crafter’s Tool Butler.
This case is designed to store supplies for all your handicrafts: crochet, knitting, embroidery, cross stitch, probably many other things you could imagine too. I love the fact that it caters to those of us who can’t pick just one thing to do with our hands! … It’s a great way to keep track of things.
Thanks so much Anneliese! Want more? Read the full review, check out the tutorials and enter the giveaway for a chance to win your very own Crafter’s Tool Butler! You’ve got until March 17; good luck to everyone who enters!
It’s always nice to hear when you’ve done a job well, and it’s especially nice if it’s something you’ve worked on for a long time. From design to release, the Crafter’s Tool Butler took more than a year to come to pass!
Now that it’s made its way through our warehouse, into the post and into your lives, we’ve started getting some reviews of the Crafter’s Tool Butler. The results? Well, see for yourself:
Jordana Paige’s Crafter’s Tool Butler is a great way to get organized and store your necessities in animal-friendly style…This bag would be a good choice for knitters who need some stylish help to get more organized and finally inventory their needles. Crafters of other persuasions could also use this tool butler to keep some of their smaller tools and necessities all in one place.
The cool thing at About.com is that you can also write your own review. So if you’re in love with your Tool Butler, tell the world! Or just tell us on camera at Stitches West this weekend.
And speaking of videos, do you watch The Knitgirllls? They’ve got a great videocast (coming up on 100 episodes–congrats!), which if you don’t watch for the knitting, or in this case, the review of our Tool Butler (at 46:58), you should at least watch for the accents. These girls sound awesome!
Thanks so much to Leslie and Laura at Knitgirllls as well as Sarah over at About.com. We appreciate the kind words!
Stitches West is just around the corner (next week!), and we’re getting ready to show off our newest product, the Crafter’s Tool Butler. But we decided we shouldn’t be the ones who have all the fun with that, so we’re asking you to join us and win!
We had a lot of fun a few years ago making a video and we’d love your help creating a new one! Not only will you get something free and extra entries to win something wonderful, you’ll be a part of Jordana Paige history, like these fine ladies:
Here’s how to play: If you already own a Tool Butler, stop by with it stocked with all your knitting necessities on Thursday, Friday or Sunday at booths 731, 733 and 735 for CTB Show and Tell!
Jordana will film you showing how you use your Crafter’s Tool Butler, and you’ll get a Jordana Paige pattern of your choice. You’ll also get five entries into our drawing for a JP knitting bag!
If you’re planning to purchase the Crafter’s Tool Butler at Stitches, you’re welcome to participate as well. Buy it, stock it and stop back at our booths ready for your close-up!
This year we will be teaming up with Bobbin’s Nest who will be featuring Lulu Bliss Designs and Hazel Knits. Please stop by, say hello and participate in our version of show and tell.
It’s been a few months now since we’ve introduced our newest product, the Crafter’s Tool Butler, and there is nothing more satisfying than seeing it in use. Here’s a photo Donna Druchunas sent our way after she’d started filling hers up. She’s still working on finding and organizing the rest of her needles, she said, but it’s a start!
Here at JP, the pictures are great because we’ve already had a chance to look at all the colors, touch fabric and put all our tools in the pockets. (It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it!)
Since not everyone has that luxury, we’re sending out samples across the United States in February. If you’re interested in seeing one of our Crafter’s Tool Butlers in action, you’re in luck! Check out our events page to see if it makes a stop at a yarn store near you. If you don’t see your shop, ask them to contact us.
