There’s a saying that goes “It’s not bragging if it’s true.” And really, why shouldn’t we all celebrate the good things about ourselves and each other?
That’s why we’re happy to see a write up in the latest issue of Vogue Knitting.
“Perennial favorite Jordana Paige brings us yet another great bag for toting knits and everyday accouterments: the L.J. Kaelms … it’ll take you from workday to knitting nights.”
It absolutely will! Thanks to the folks over at Vogue Knitting for the shout out. We appreciate it! It’s always great to receive a compliment.
What about those who have the L.J. Kaelms? Do you agree with Vogue Knitting? What do you love about your bag?
Did you notice? Stitches West is only 10 days away! We’ll be there, in our usual spot, booths 729 and 731. We’ll have our complete line of bags and patterns, including L.J. Kaelms in all it’s fabulousness. As usual we’ll be teaming up with Bobbin’s Nest to offer you some prizes and other wonderful items.
Cannot wait to see you, really! This is my eighth Stitches West. It’s like being reunited with old friends. And for you, my friend, here’s a $2 off admission coupon.
The most annoying item to try to find in a handbag: A ringing phone.
It just keeps laughing at me as I dig and dig. The second I find it, it goes to voicemail. If I had only put it back in its special pocket after using it the last time.
When I designed L.J. Kaelms I was certain to design it with a phone pocket so that I could forget to use it. It really is a nice pocket; extra wide to fit a smart phone, padded, located on each side of the bag (one for your phone and one for your mp3 player). Pretty functional, huh? Maybe one day I’ll remember to put my phone in it.
Have you seen the new magazine Knitting Today? Check out the latest issue (available on newsstands next Tuesday) and flip on over to page 11 to see their review of L.J. Kaelms.
I love giveaways! I wish I could have a new giveaway every week, but that would just be a really poor business plan. Here’s a better plan:
L.J. Kaelms will be arriving next week. The day is almost here! From now until October 15th at 11am PST, we’ll be collecting entries for our L.J. Kaelms giveaway. We’ll draw four winners at random, in honor of the four women the bag is named after.
There’s so many ways to enter. In fact, you can increase your chances by entering through all methods.
If you’re already doing any of the above, no need to do anything else for those entries to be counted. All Facebook fans, Twitter followers and mailing list subscribers will automatically be entered in the drawing.
4. Post any photo of L.J. Kaelms on your blog with a link to JordanaPaige.com and state why you want the bag. Send an email to contests@jordanapaige.com with a link to the blog post.
5. Tweet the following sentence on Twitter, completing it with your reason: “I want the new LJ Kaelms by @JordanaPaige because”
(Please make sure your Twitter feed is public, otherwise we won’t be able to see your tweet to count it).
6. Post a photo of you and any Jordana Paige product (bag or finished JP pattern) on our Facebook page. Don’t own a product? That’s okay. Draw a picture, print a photo, or cut out a magazine ad of your favorite Jordana Paige product. Hold it up next to you and snap a picture.
7. Post on the Jordana Paige Facebook wall stating why you like Jordana Paige products, which is your favorite Jordana Paige product or why you want an L.J. Kaelms bag. (Comments to wall posts not accepted. Must be a wall post.)
You can enter through all 7 methods above, but only once for each. For example, you’re welcome to tweet why you want an L.J. Kaelms bag 472 times, but it will only count as one entry.
If you have any questions about entering, just post a comment to this blog post.
A couple weeks ago was Stitches Midwest in Illinois. Sarah, our sales rep extraordinaire and Ravelry moderator, went on the road to bring Jordana Paige to the show. Partnering with Woven Arts, this was the first time I’d had someone represent the company at Stitches for me. I knew that if anyone could do it, Sarah could. Last week I called Sarah to debrief on how the show went. Utterly jealous of her getting to debut L.J. Kaelms, she shared with me about all the hoots and hollars. My favorite was when she told me about a woman, excited about a bag, said she just had one question, “is the bag bulletproof?” Sarah, caught off-guard, gave her a puzzled look and the woman responded with, “because my husband is going to kill me when he sees that I bought this.” People, you crack me up! Here’s some more of Sarah’s recap from the show.
The Jordana Paige display inside the Woven Art booth at Stitches Midwest
The Lapis Blue Rio and I traveled all the way from South Texas to the suburbs of Chicago the last weekend in August, to debut the new LJ Kaelms bag at Stitches Midwest.
The entire weekend was one big celebration as customers came into the booth to look at the fabulous yarns and bags, they were met with the smiling faces of the Woven Art family, and myself. Nancy (Owner) and Meg, and Nancy’s two daughters Kelly and Kathryn were privileged to debut the brand new bag to the public. Kelly modeled many of the garments for us, including Annie, Landon, Royce, Mila, and Sylvar. Customers were able to try on garments or have someone in the booth model for them, and several of them actually found the perfect yarn to go right along with it.
The new LJ Kaelms bag made a huge splash with the new feature ‘yarn pockets’ to keep balls of yarn from rolling around and getting tangled, as well as all of the other wonderful features already in place with the new and current bags. The colors and fabric proved to be just what people were looking for. Many thanks to Nancy, Meg, Kelly and Kathryn from Woven Art. They were so much fun and really proved to be almost as addicted as yours truly. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to debut a new Jordana Paige bag and a special thanks to everyone I met in the booth, and for all of the support you gave.
Just how big is L.J. Kaelms? It’s sized between Rio and the Knitter’s Messenger Bag at L 11″ x W 7.5″ x H 12″. When I look at it here on our comparison chart, it seems bigger than in person. Maybe it’s because I stuffed so full for the picture…?
On a another note, isn’t that one good looking family of bags (nothing like the designer complimenting herself)? When I dropped the new bag into comparison photo, I had to take a second to look at them all lined up there. Do you own the whole family (with LJ Kaelms on pre-order)? What are you missing to make your collection complete?
L.J. Kaelms, in a beautiful Teal Blue. Inside is our traditional arrangement of pockets, with one exception that I’m really excited about. Below each circlet is a yarn pocket with an elastic top. Your ball of yarn can sit in a pocket and then feed into the circlet.
Removable pouch, large zipper pocket, extra large pocket divider.
Small pocket, key loop, credit card slots, row of pockets to line up all your tools.
